Genohm has just released the latest v6.0 version of SLIMS, its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) + Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) platform.
SLIMS just got better ! Today, we have released the new v6.0 version of SLIMS. The Tutorial that we have prepared for our customers shows the different highlights of the new SLIMS release. We would like to introduce here the most important of these improvements.
First, have a look at the new graphics. Check out the new SLIMS logo, the lighter outlook of the login page, the clearer overall design, all the functionalities grouped in one module with search capabilities. It’s also much easier now to switch layout with one click. We just made the user experience very much friendlier.
Beside the fresh look, we have a new set of features and improvements. Just click on the icons of front page of the Tutorial and you will be automatically redirected to the relevant page.
Among the most important features, we have now introduced the possibility to track Inventories and new type of Locations that have infinite number of positions. If you are using the Studies feature, you can now assign a certain group to a determined study in order to restrict the access to specific content events and case report forms.
Do you need to notify one of your collaborators on a record change? Easy. You have now the possibility to generate emails directly from SLIMS. At the same time, there are 4 Notifications levels possible: Info-Warn-Success-Error. They can be generated using Rules, SlimsGate, or on a fixed basis with Cron.
The Workflow module also got his share of new features. You can search for contents that are in a specific order by any barcode field. You can also add a mixing step in a workflow protocol and pool multiple lanes if you use HiSeq. Are you looking for more flexibility in your workflows? Well, the dynamic protocols will make your day and greatly facilitate your work.
